All you need to get started are 40 verified/logged dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives experience in each area plus Diver Stress & Rescue. The SSI Classified Diving Professional program is designed for Divemasters and Assistant Instructors who want to support divers with disabilities. This certification trains you to assist a Classified Diving Instructor in both confined and open water. You will learn how to adapt standard procedures, provide safe in-water support, and understand the unique needs of divers with physical or mental challenges. As a Classified Diving Professional, you will become an essential part of creating inclusive dive experiences. You will gain the skills to ensure safety, build confidence, and make the underwater world accessible to all.

Becoming an SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Continue your diving education as an instructor by enrolling in a Specialty Instructor Seminar for each of the diving specialties you would like to teach. Alternatively, you can co-teach the specialty you are interested in with an experienced Specialty Instructor or request a Verification Application of your experience and send it directly to SSI. The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose.
