Garibaldi Damselfish

The beautiful garibaldi fish is hard to miss as it swims in, out, and around the kelp forests of the Pacific Ocean. Clearly distinguishable by its bright orange body, heart-shaped tail fin, and crystal-blue eyes, this relative of the damselfish is a favorite amongst those diving off the west coast of the United States and Mexico. The only fish that may be more vibrant in the water is a garibaldi in its juvenile state. Deep orange in color and covered in electric blue spots, diving with juvenile garibaldi is always a treat.

Maafaru Thila (★4.4)

Great challenging reef that consists of 2 thilas. The eastern Thila is not that big and is circled in 25 to 30 minutes then you fly about. 120m to the 2nd thila. Here it goes down again to look for a frogfish. Between November and April mantas and mobulas possible.

Nassimo Thila (★4.2)

Probably one of the best Thilas in the whole North Male area. There are several pinnacles on the north of the Thila, where the main fish are, along with beautiful coral formations and sea fans. Wonderful dive for experienced divers due to the strong current.

USAT Liberty Wreck (★4.6)

This is the only historical shipwreck in Bali, ranked #3 in the world for Wreck diving! The wreck is 25 meters form shore at a depth of 4 to 29 meters below the surface with most of it occuring in a shallow area. This dive site does not have strong currents, has clear water, and warm temperatures. Difficult entry!

Pyramid Point (★4.6)

Artificial coral reef placed on the sandy bottom with depths varying from 10 meters to 25 meters. The basis of the coral growth is made of rectangular concrete arranged like a small pyramid. It is one of the best places to witness a successful artificial reef.

Colosseum (★4.5)

Colosseum is located on the west side of the island of Thulusdhoo. At the corner to the channel there is a large indentation in the form of a Roman amphitheatre at approx. 20m. This form is the epitome of the dive site and, at the same time, a meeting place for many marine creatures.

La Lagunita (★4.4)

To the northeast side of Isla de Lobos, you encounter a huge volcanic platform; from 18-20m it descends towards the sand reaching 26-28 m and creates a wall in the S/N direction. Near the middle of the ridge, there is a canyon through which you can enter the platform and climb up through a hole above it.

Old Virgin (★4.6)

This wall is for all kind of divers, easy and protected but nice. The reef falls from 5 to 25m and we have to look in the small overhangs.In the right month (May to Aug) often mantas passing in the blue. A spot also good for a night dive and a good chance to get surprised.

Tugboat (★4.2)

Tugboat is Curacao’s most famous dive and snorkel spot due to its shallow depth. It was wrecked just off the shore of Caracasbaai and sits in only 15 feet of water. The tugboat is crawling with marine life and is now covered in sponges and coral growth.

Active pier for loading salt from the salt works on the island of Bonaire. It can only be dived when no ship is moored, and no maintenance is being performed.

In this wonderful wall dive, we anchor at a depth of about 12m on top of a volcanic platform. Marsa Shagara is a bay with an easy sand bottom entrance that leads to South or North reef dives. The depth starts at 1m and drops to 40m + outside the bay. It is one of the most pristine house reef dives in the south. This dive is great for entry level and experienced divers.

Blue Lagoon (★4.4)

This is a white sandy bay with clear water that has healthy corals at its edge, followed by a rubble area. Some bommies come to adorn the bay. Away from the beach, the sandy bottom begins to decline towards to more than 20 meters deep where you can find several cleaning stations.

Shark & Yolanda Reef (★4.6)

The most famous site in Ras Mohammed. There are many ways to dive the site so there is something for everyone here. Shark Reef, Yolanda Reef, and Satellite Reef make up the 3 pinnacles. On Yolanda Reef you can find toilets and a mast laying around from the sunken Yolanda wreck.

Viking Cave (★4.6)

Viking Cave has a striking bay and a beautiful cave above the water, but the real deal is underwater a few hundred meters to the north of Viking Cave. A few years ago, the Phuket Marine Conservation department put down a beautiful artificial reef to re-establish marine life after the tsunami.

Entry from a sandy beach shore line, you will swim toward a slope where you will start your dive. Start off by swimming to the right, then follow the ledge to come across a few coral blocks with lots of colorful fish. Continue along the right side to find turtles eating on the ocean floor.

Manta Point, Sekar Kuning (★4.6)

Located in the south of Nusa Penida Island and facing the Indian Ocean, Manta Point can often have big waves. This dive site has large rock mounds which are often visited by manta rays for self cleaning, giving this site it’s name.
