Pollocks are common in the North Atlantic Ocean, mainly along the coastlines of Europe and North America. Pollocks consist of two species from the genus Pollachius and are part of the cod family, Gadidae. Pollocks are also commonly known as saithe or coalfish in Europe. They are a deep green color with a pale lateral line and a lighter underbelly.
