Komodo - paradise of dragons and stingrays

Every diver's dream come true - we're off to Indonesia to Komodo, one of the most amazing dive sites in the world! A week full of colourful coral reefs, manta rays, sharks and maybe even an encounter with the legendary Komodo raven awaits us. Komodo is part of the Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Below the surface here you will find incredibly rich marine life, excellent visibility and in places strong currents that attract large pelagic species. There are 9 days / 8 nights with 6 dive days. We will stay all week in luxury double rooms in a beautiful hotel - right on the beach in the town of Labuan Bajo. The hotel offers a pool with sea view, restaurant, garden and direct access to the beach. Each room has a private bathroom, air conditioning and a high standard of comfort. We will be going out daily on dives from the boat - always to the best Komodo sites. We will choose the sites according to conditions, but you can already find a selection of the best ones: Sebayur Kecil: offers a great site for check dives, beginners and those who want to refresh their skills. There is almost no current. It is a sloping reef, once divers get deeper, the seamount at around 25m depth offers a great opportunity to see a variety of sharks and giant sweetlips. Tatawa Besar: diving at Tatawa Besar often means drifting along one of the most beautiful coral slopes in Komodo Park. Huge sponges, hard corals of various types and colours, soft corals - bright orange and purple. Among the marine animals here you will find grey reef sharks, white and black tip sharks, rays, napoleons, cuttlefish, crocodiles, moray eels, turtles. Manta point: drifts at a depth of 10-15 meters along the bottom, covered with small rocks and coral fragments. Along the way there are coral "islands" inhabited by small fish. Manta rays come to these cleaning stations and the fish clean their bodies of parasites and old skin. In addition to manta rays, you will find reef sharks, giant trevally, marbled and eagle rays, mullet, and turtles. Mawan: white sand, turquoise water and a reef that starts right on the beach. On this island, you can often see manta rays, whitetip sharks lying on the sand and blacktip sharks roaming over the reef, as well as turtles, cuttlefish, schools of octopuses and all sorts of little things Batu Bolong: this famous site is one of the world's unique attractions. Batu Bolong is famous for the fact that you can see everything in one dive - several species of sharks, napoleons, large trevally, turtles, metre-long giant freshwater fish, barracudas, etc. The underwater terrain, the canyon and the picturesque rocks are also interesting. Closer to the surface at a depth of 5-7 metres - there is a beautiful coral plateau with "crowds" of bright small fish. Crystal Rock: located in the northern part of Komodo Island, it is a peak in the open sea that is submerged at high tide. At Crystal Rock, divers descend rapidly with the current to a depth of 20-25 m, where they can hold on to the rock and observe almost all the giant ocean dwellers. Giant trevally sharks, Napoleon wrasse, giant freshwater sharks, tuna, grey and white tip reef sharks, schools of batfish surround the divers. But the topography of Crystal Rock is also impressive. The dive ends by letting the current carry you around the top into a protected area where, if lucky, divers can see seahorses and octopuses. Castle Rock: another amazing dive site in the north of Komodo Park. This site is a great dive site for spotting and diving with sharks. However, you can see almost everything underwater. Due to the currents and the fact that it is in open water, Castle Rock offers great visibility.
