SAFARI EGYPT Top of the North
Top of the North is (as the name suggests) a safari tour during which we will visit the most beautiful dive sites in the northern part of the Red Sea. During the 6 days of diving Egypt's most famous wrecks, reefs located in the vicinity of Safaga and the Sinai Peninsula, as well as the iconic Brothers Islands await us. We will begin our safari with coastal checking dives in the area around Hurghada. In the evening, we will embark on an overnight cruise to the open sea to spend the next day at the famous Brothers Islands. We will make 3 dives on Big Brother and Little Brother, during which we will visit, among others, the wreck of the "Numidia" lying off the northern plateau of the island and the wreck of the freighter "Aida" submerged off the western part of the reef. Our last dive of the day will be off the southern plateau, where we will have the opportunity to encounter whitetip sharks, gray reef sharks and, if we are lucky, even hammerhead sharks. In the afternoon we will take dinghies to the island to watch the spectacular sunset from the very top of the lighthouse. Little Brother is only two kilometers away, we will make mostly one dive there along the steeply sloping walls of the island. Swimming among rows of stately gorgonians, we will look out for gray reef sharks and hammerheads, and wait for whitetip sharks circling around the moored boats before exiting the water. This route is not only beautiful reefs and stately animals, but also the aforementioned exceptionally large number of wrecks. During the following dive days we will visit the wreck of the Salem Express ferry and the Steel Reef, which owes its name to the five ships lying at its foot. We will dive at the wrecks "Ghiannis D", "Carnatica" and "Chrisoula" and perform a night dive. In the area of Ras Mohammad National Park we will dive at the famous Shark and Yolanda reefs and at Mahmud Ed visiting the Dunraven wreck. The safari participants will have the chance to dive twice at the most famous wreck of the Red Sea, the "SS Thistlegorm", whose interiors hide a veritable museum of World War II. On the last day of the safari we will visit the wreck of the chaser "El Mina" and the reefs located near Hurghada. The route is designed for advanced and intermediate divers. The required grade is OWD/P1 and at least 20 dives performed.
