Los Corredores/The canyons

It’s a course dive. Close to the coast of Cala Blanca is this place that is named after the tunnels perpendicular to the coast that have parts of the roof collapsed. If the level of the divers is adequate, a chimney can also be made. It is convenient to bring a flashlight.

In the tunnels we can see cardinal fish, meagres and some grouper. We can also see striped red mullets, white seabreams, two banded seabreams, ornate wrass, rainbow wrasse, sea urchins.

S'Estancia (★4.4)

Dive spot at the south of Isla del Aire. Ideal to take shelter when the north wind blows. It consists of a dive to see two caverns with exciting backlights, a little far from each other. Between the caverns, there is a series of rocky blocks with holes that hide a variety of animals.

Punta del Bisbe (★4.4)

Dive spot west of Isla de Aire, which is why it is part of the Marine Reserve. It is one of the liveliest dives in the Mahón area. There is a small but beautiful double level cavern, several tunnels through the rock and even a sailboat mast. The variety of elements makes it spectacular.

Cagaires (★4.5)

We navigate fifteen minutes from Mahon’s harbour. Dive spot under a rocky overhang near the island Isla del Aire. We start the dive on a big platform, we drop at a 18m depth sandbank. We enter a enormous cavern that crosses under the rocky overhang offering amazing backlighting.

Coves d’en Marroquí (★4.3)

Dive spot at the south of the islet of Cagaires. We start the dive in a small bay from where we can cross through different arcs. Then, we continue south until we arrive to two big caverns with sandy bottom. There, we will see an amphora practically buried and the rest of big and sad dead nacras.

Es Cargol (★4.2)

On the south coast of Menorca, near Binibeca beach, we find the Escull de Es Cargol. A rock that offers a variety of life, tunnels, arches and holes of different shapes. The current will be decisive in deciding the level of the dive.

Barbada Alcaufar (★4.5)

We anchor at a platform 12m depth where we find an are full of tunnels and canyons that reminds us a very entretaining labyrinth. We arrive to a reef where we drop directly to 22m depth. There is an interesting pinnacle with a holethrough which is possible to cross.

Ses Olles (★4.3)

Dive spot from the coast, perfect for try scuba and courses, located near Binisafúller. A large sandbank surrounded by a rocky bottom where different species of fish live. Leaving the cove, it is possible to reach a depth of 10m. There, the bottom changes completely to rock and posidonia.

Cap d’en Font (★4.5)

On the south coast we find the famous caves of Cap d’en Font, a set of immense caves that will leave us amazed. It is possible to see stalactites, stalagmites and columns in most of the caves. In order to enjoy it well, it is preferable to do at least two dives to see them all.

Junkers Ju 88, wreck (★4.8)

Nazi plane that bombed Algeria in World War II. It was shipwrecked in the waters of Menorca becoming a wreck. Deep dive only suitable for experts. The plane rests on a sandy bottom and it is in good condition.

Caló Roig (★4.6)

Beautiful point for initiation activities. It is located near Alcaufar, on a white sand beach that extends underwater. The life of the sand contrasts with that present in the rocky area on the sides.

Pozo de la Luna (★4.8)

It is one of the Caves of Cap d’en Font. Accessing through a platform to the west of Cap d’en Font, you dive for about 15 minutes at a shallow depth until you reach a first cave. You advance a little further until reaching Pozo de la Luna. Inside, we access to an air chamber by passing through a halocline.

Binisafuller (★4.1)

Idyllic spot for initiation activities such as courses and try scuba. It is accessible by a ramp from the beach of Binisafuller. Shallow dive white sandy bottom and rocky areas on the sides.

S’Algar Reef (★4.0)

Dive spot in front of the Salgar urbanization. We anchor on a huge rocky platform. The dive runs along the wall of the reef, where we find several tunnels, holes and caverns of different characteristics that, together with the variety of life, make it a great fun dive.

Funnels (★4.5)

Nice dive with easily accessible caverns and with exit to the surface. The ray of sunlight that enters at a certain time of day is like in a film. The maximum depth is 25m, being the most of the dive below 18m.

Santa Clara (★4.7)

Fishing boat about 45m long sunk at great depth. Only for experienced divers. The wreck lies on a sandy bottom at a depth of over 40m. Its compartments and external areas are populated with marine life, so it is possible to see a great variety of creatures.

Cala Rafalet (★4.3)

Ten minutes by boat from the port of Mahón to Cala Rafalet. We find diversity of landscapes in this dive: bottom of small rocks, rocky blocks with multiple holes and tunnels, posidona meadow and a beautiful and huge cavern with a spectacular backlight.

Cal Dimoni (★4.4)

Dive spot 10 minutes from the port of Mahón. We anchor near the Cova de ses Ginjoles and we dive towards Cala Rafalet. Large rocks with holes, tunnels and small caves offer a very fun dive.

Dive spot located near the port of Mahón, at Punta de Sa Cigonya. We anchor on a large platform at a shallow depth that allows different activities for beginners or for novice divers. We will find a variety of life and some small tunnel to cross with charming backlights.

Cova dels Ofegats (★4.3)

Dive spot close to the exit of the harbour of Mahón. We anchor under the Torre d’en Penjat, on a rocky platform. Under the cliff, we find the Cova dels Ofegats, a wide cavern with a beautiful backlight that has an air chamber on the surface where it’s possible to ascend.

La Virgen (★4.0)

Dive spot at the exit of the port of Mahón. We anchor on a rocky platform about 12m depth and follows several canyons until reaching a huge cavern that acts as a tunnel. There is a small sculpture of a virgin. Leaving the cave, we follow the high wall on the left seeing diverse life.

La Mola (★4.4)

Simple dive for try scuba and courses, but adaptable for novice divers. Leaving the port of Mahón, we find the beautiful and quiet Clot de la Mola, to carry out all kinds of activities. There is an immense sandy area with several rocks and Posidonia meadows that are home to a lot of life.

Roques de s’Esperó (★3.8)

Dive spot to carry out courses of the Deep specialty at depths between 30 and 40m. The rocky bottom forms a large platform with patches of coarse sand.

La Mola Nord (★4.3)

Beautiful point for initiation activities. It is located north of the port of Mahón, near Ses Pedres Blaves. We find an immersed sandbank that contrasts with the rocky blocks that stand on the sand. Advancing, we find areas with posidonia and a rocky bottom with tunnels and holes.

The wreck of this large Dutch river barge, 23 meters long and 5 meters wide, lies 1250 meters from Son Bou beach in 27 meters of water and stands between sand and posidonia.
